The rooms were decorated with votive paintings commissioned by the magistrates at the end of their term: a way to link public accounting, devotion and personal reputation. Many canvases, now preserved elsewhere, bear crucial names of the Venetian sixteenth century, including Tintoretto, Veronese and Bonifacio de\u2019 Pitati.
