From there you build the itinerary backwards, avoiding crossing unnecessary bridges with trolleys and bags.<\/p>\n<p>Venetian geography weighs more than the clock: a few meters on the map can mean steps, narrow calli and crowded passages. If departure is from Santa Lucia, it makes sense to stay in the Cannaregio, San Polo area or along the Grand Canal.
