The copies placed outside preserve the effect intended for those looking from below: bodies advanced beyond the line of the loggia, raised legs, heads slightly diverging, almost transforming the entrance into a triumphal chariot.<\/p>\n One useful detail is the collar: it does not belong only to the ornament, but conceals ancient joints in the metal, reminding us that the group was cast in separate parts. The gilded surface, too, now perceptible differently between the specimens on display and the pieces kept inside, helps us imagine the original impact of the quadriga under the lagoon light.<\/p>\n To understand them better, it is useful to compare two views: from outside one grasps the scenographic and political value; in the museum one can read up close the anatomy, patina, signs of restoration and that muscular tension that reveals the extraordinary quality of the ancient work.
